FIFA Introduces MRI Scan For Age Of Players To Be Determined

How can you tell the age of a footballer? 

Search no more, after several scandals, FIFA have introduced "Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)" [/b]scans to start checking the age of younger players .

According to report some players and teams have been accused of bending the truth. It was learn that teams from Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Congo-Brazzaville and Kenya have been hit with age scandals in recent years.

BBC correspondent [b]Munthoni Muchiri [/b]talks about age fraud in football and explained how the MRI works. Football governing body [b]FIFA
 introduce the MRI scan to check the age of players.

But basically, the MRI scan look at the development of the bone area in the wrist joint. This means that if the bones have fixed together in this area, FIFA says this usually means the player is over 17 years.
